Dr. Aristita Busuioc, senior research scientist, will coordinate the ANM team in the MOSES project. She is graduated in Mathematics, PhD in Mathematics (1997); she has high expertise in climate variability and climate change issue (more than 25 years), especially in developing statistical downscaling models (linear and stochastic models), statistical techniques in time series analysis, modes of climate variability, connection between regional climate variability and large-scale climate variability, validation of the global/regional climate models. She coordinated several national research projects (currently she is the coordinator of CLIMHYDEX project, www.climhydex.meteoromania.ro), ANM research teams involved in EU projects such as ENSEMBLES, CC-WaterS and also involved in the EU CECILIA project. She was lead author of the IPCC AR4 (WG1).
The main responsibility in her professional career: head of the Climatology Division from ANM (2006-2009), head of the Dynamical Climatology Group (Climate Research Group after 2003 (1988-2006), project director (since 2009). Awards, distinctions, membership in prestigious international professional associations: “Stefan Hepites” award of the Romanian Academy (2005) for an article published in 2003 in the Climate Research journal; as Lead Author of the IPCC AR4, received the Acknowledgement Diploma for Contribution for the Nobel Price Award received by the IPCC in
2007; the book “Climate variability and Climate Change in Romania” by Busuioc et al. (2010) received the “Stefan Hepites” award of the Romanian Academy; member of international organizations (EGU , Urban Climatology), member of the Editorial Advisory Board, “The Open Atmospheric Science”; Senior Associate of The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (2003-2008); expert evaluator for EU projects (FP6, FP7) and for FCT (Portugal) projects (2007, 2009, 2010); reviewer at 7 international peer-reviewed journals.
